Subject: a smart \em for eplain
I bashfully suggest that an \em macro (a la LaTeX) with
automatic italic correction (as in the code presented
by Donald Arseneau in "Italic Correction Everywhere",
in the section "Hey --- It Works!" of "TeX and TUG
News", vol. 3, no. 1) would be a welcome addition to
eplain. (Arseneau's code goes through with very little
massaging in plain TeX.)
